Scientific and Research Activities
Scientific activities at the Faculty are carried out in several areas such as Modern Technologies for the Economy (a topic pursued in the disciplines of Computer Science, Electronics, Automatics and Robotics), Energy and Infrastructure (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation and Robotics) and Health (Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering).
The main research directions in these areas are as follows:
- control theory and computer control systems, biomedical signal analysis methods and vision systems, software engineering, real-time systems, management information systems,
- design of digital and analog ASIC „fullcustom” integrated circuits, FPGAs, optoelectronic circuits, digital signal processing, SOI ionizing particle detectors, study of microelectronics and nanostructures as applied to microelectronics, optoelectronics, spintronics, and gas sensors,
- smart control of building equipment, quality and efficiency of electricity use, electric drive automation, power electronics, electrothermal engineering, electric traction,
- measurement, identification, and diagnosis of electrical machines,
- design and analysis of power networks and systems, testing of high-voltage insulation systems,
- analysis of chaotic systems, analysis of the dynamics of nonlinear systems, application of nonlinear dynamics methods in signal processing,
- design and construction of measurement systems; measurement of traffic parameters, including systems for weighing vehicles in motion,
- theory, methods, and applications of software engineering and knowledge engineering in the design, modeling, and analysis of information systems,
- modeling, simulation studies, and design of analog electronic circuits for building measurement systems,
- construction of unique analog and digital measurement systems.
